Mphungu L.E.A. Primary School

A walk to Mphungu L.E.A. school in Area 12, Lilongwe reveals something unusual, at least to this writer in our local primary school, a basketball court.  Granted, the concrete is old and has cracks but it's very usable and a potential framework for developing a place for introducing the game to primary age children.  The board and rims are well-used so are falling apart but I believe the folk who go to train there find it more than adequate.

There is a team that trains there and use it as their home court, the team's name is (Area)12 Discipoz.  12 Discipoz is very active in Lilongwe Basketball's A-League and features talent in the likes of Wales Mvula and Dokiso (hope I haven't placed his name in the wrong team). Players from other teams in Lilongwe that happen to live in Area 11, 12, and 10 use this court for training as well isn't that right Samjuel Nsanja from Trojans? Rumors of the likes of former Entertainers of Year Basketballer of the Year, Kayakangu Malange training there at some point are still making the rounds.

Here's to usable resources, let's not complain at the state of the court at Mphungu but make full use of it and when funds are available to us individually or collectively-whichever comes first, let's do something to fix this asset.
